If you are seeking peace, beauty, relaxation, wild flowers, gorgeous beaches, rocky coves, stunning views and luxurious accommodation then Nell’s House is exactly the place for you. The luxuriously fitted cottage can sleep 6 and is fully equipped with more than everything you could possible need.
The most westerly house on Heir Island, nearest neighbour to the west is the Statue of Liberty, Nell’s House has 360 degree views across Roaring Water Bay with a sea view from every window – even the loo! The house is surrounded by 26 acres of grassland, and if you really want to get away from it all then there is a separate 8-acre island accessible on foot at low tide. There is plenty of outdoor seating and tables, a small well-tended herb and flower garden and lawns.
Nells House was built in 1928 by the Irish Land Commission but extensively re-ordered in 2002 and is now a beautifully furnished 3-bedroomed luxury property supplied by an eco-friendly geothermal heat-exchange system. Able to sleep 6 guests, the house comprises two double-bedded rooms and one twin bedded room; a living room with a log burning stove; a study with satellite TV and wifi broadband; a bathroom with walk-in power shower and bath; and a large kitchen. The kitchen is fitted out with Smeg appliances, large fridge/freezer, microwave oven, washing and dish-washing machines, bread-making machine, Le Creuset pots and pans and a large selection of high quality kitchen ware, glasses and cutlery. An abundance of towels and top-quality linen complement king size beds with new mattresses. There are a couple of bikes in the shed for anyone to use.
